Introduction

Hello!

My name is Morgan Fluent, and I teach 2nd grade at Wilber-Clatonia Elementary School. This is my third year teaching and I love every second of it. I started out my college experience taking my general education classes at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska. I then decided to transfer to Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Nebraska Wesleyan in December of 2017.

I have a good amount of experience with technology. I am a MAC person, so I use MacBooks, iPads, iPhones, etc. I really enjoy incorporating technology into my lessons with my second graders. However, I do not have a lot of access to technology as of yet. My school has an iPad cart with 25 iPads available for grades K-2. The rest of the grades are 1:1 with Chromebooks. Many teachers like to use technology at my school, and the iPad cart is first come, first serve. I like to use Quizlet Live, Nearpod, Flipgrid, Seesaw, Epic!, Kahoot, and a few other websites in my classroom. As for Microsoft Office, I am using the lastest version, Microsoft Office 2019. I really like to use PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

I have always wanted to be a lifelong learner, and I finally felt like it was time for me to pursue that. After I graduated with my Bachelor's degree, I wanted to take a couple of years to get used to having my own classroom before I ventured into earning my Master's degree. I heard fantastic things about this program, and I have had a few colleagues and friends earn their Master's through Peru State College. That is why I chose Peru to continue my education. It is always nice to earn more money, but that was not the reason why I decided to start this program. I plan to use this Master's degree to improve as a teacher. I am very excited to continue this journey and to better myself as an educator.
