Flipgrid Video

I learned a lot while taking this class. I learned about the educational community on Twitter, about a flipped classroom, how to create videos for my students and parents, blogging, and so much more. One of the ISTE standards that I met was 1a. Set professional learning goals to explore and apply pedagogical approaches made possible by technology and reflect on their effectiveness. That is exactly what I did during this whole class. I learned about many different types and usages of technology and reflected on them on my blog. I also met standard 5a. Use technology to create, adapt, and personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning and accommodate learner differences and needs. My curriculum video helped me meet this standard. One of the most useful tools from this class was Twitter. I really loved the educational community that I established on Twitter. I got different resources, videos, laughs, and inspiration from educators all around the wor...

Curriculum Video

Image
Linked, you will find my Curriculum Video for my second grade class. I decided to make my video over 3-digit addition after asking my students their opinion. They said that I should record a math lesson because that is their favorite subject, so I did. They have been working so hard and wanted to show off their skills. The process of making this video was challenging as I was not the one recording my lesson, and I had to make sure that I got all of the different camera angles. Putting the video together was also a challenge with recording my narration, adding music, and making sure I had the required video and picture amount. Overall, this project was a challenge, but it was a challenge that taught me a great deal about myself as an educator.

Kahoot

I have waited for this!! Richard Byrne, from Free Technology for Teachers blog, created a blog post about Kahoot. He mentioned that Kahoot is now offering the option for the answers to be shown on the student's devices and not just on the main screen. They no longer have to look at the main screen, find the color of the correct answer, and then click on the correct color. The answers will show up right on their screen. I have wanted this for as long as I have been utilizing Kahoot in my classroom. My students love Kahoot, but they often "complain" about not seeing the answers on their own device. They get lost in the "back and forth" and they have to make sure they have a good view of the screen. Now, that has changed. I believe that many other educators will appreciate this as well, especially with the younger grades. Here is the link to the blog post if you want to check it out as well! https://www.freetech4teachers.com/2021/03/kahoot-now-displays-questions-...

Screencastify

I love Screencastify and there are so many uses for this in the classroom, especially in this day in age. Now, with Covid-19 and remote learning Screencastify is a great tool to utilize to educate the students. This is a way to record your screen and create videos for your students. I chose to make a Screencastify to quickly teach my students how to create a Google Slide presentation. I teach 2nd grade, so this is a nice way to introduce Google Slides to my students.

Our Week in 2nd Grade Animoto Video

I really loved making this video with Animoto. I would use this website to showcase many different things from my classroom. I used this as a video I could share with my parents discussing everything we did and learned throughout the week. I would really enjoy using this website to make an end of the year video s howing everything we learned and did throughout the year as well. Animoto is a fantastic website to create engaging and interactive videos for the classroom.

Canva

I chose to visit the Canva Website. This website provides the user with many different opportunities to create content. This would work very well for educators because they can make presentations, instagram posts, videos, facebook posts, posters, flyers, logos, and many more artifacts for their class. I really enjoyed using this website, it is aesthetically pleasing and it was very user friendly. I chose to create a presentation and before I started creating the presentation it offered me a "tour" of the website. This website would be beneficial to educators because they can make instructional presentations, flyers and posters, and educational videos for the classroom. You do need to create an account to share the products that you create, but the account is free. They have a Canva Pro edition and you do have to pay for that one. I believe that any educator in any grade level could utilize this website, but middle and high school teachers would probably use it more often than...

Article Reflection Video

Here is my article reflection video. I really enjoyed learning about blended learning, and this article had some great information. I have not personally had to utilize blended learning, but I now have some strategies I could use if I did have to use blended learning in my own classroom.
